A complete break down of their services. Background: I am a 38m (37 when I started) living in Portland, OR. I have been unsuccessful with online dating and the pandemic definitely hasn't been helping. I was given advice to try a service in order to find people who are serious enough to pay money for dating". Eventually I cracked after checking out match and was offered 6 months with a steep discount (that's how they get you) Unique features of match: Members are searchable with good customization. They even had the option to search based on whose preferences match you. It also displayed when members where online and how long ago they were there. A free consultation to get advice with dating. Match events for single people(never took part in any). It kept the OKcupid feature where members can see who is looking at them (paid membership) The issues: It is really unclear who can receive a message and under what circumstances. I received a message or two before paying but couldn't read them until I paid. As such, I felt like it could be hit or miss if my messages were ever seen. I could ensure my messages are readable by paying extra money on top of the subscription. There is opening screen where it puts profiles in front of you, I assumed that messages would reach those people (maybe?) The most frustrating thing was that it would keep putting profiles that I "liked" and sent messages to. Worse than that, there would be a little heart for those I liked but sometimes they would the heart would disappear and I would see them again as a suggested profile. They also deleted all my matches once my subscription ran out. Results: Initially I had a few matches early on. I did video chats since there nowhere was open to meet up due to covid. There were a few matches here and there. Unfortunately nothing that went beyond the first date. There was woman I was excited about but she essentially flaked in the strangest way. In the end I had 4 dates over 6 months.
