Any advice for proceeding would be appreciated. I’m a 28 year old guy, and very recently got out a toxic relationship (hooray for that I guess). Is trying to date a girl who has a kid a bad idea?

Any advice for proceeding would be appreciated. I’m a 28 year old guy, and very recently got out a toxic relationship (hooray for that I guess). Some people may be sad about that, but I’m happy to have the chance to move on. I actually found out that there’s another girl who is interested in me but there’s one problem: I know that she has a young child. We haven’t gone on a date or anything, and have just been talking a little bit. I was able to figure out from her social media pages that she’s definitely a mom, though it seems like she’s trying to hide it from me. I don’t know exactly how old she is, what happened with the dad, or anything else, this is just what I know so far. I assume she will tell me the real story when she’s ready to. I guess I haven’t entirely shunned the idea, because she seemed to have so many of the qualities I’ve been looking for. So I guess I came to ask a simple question: is this too much to take on at this point in my life? I like to think that I have a lot going for me, and I’d definitely love to have kids someday. Though, I’m not entirely sure that I want to be with someone who already has kids. I guess I was hoping that having kids could be an experience that I share with someone, and we could learn how to do it together. TLDR: I’m not sure that it’s a good idea to make this kind of commitment at this stage in my life. If someone has kids already, should I consider it a dealbreaker?
